Master Programs in Computational Sciences

The University of Basel offers a wide variety of specialization programs in Computational

Sciences within existing Master curricula.
Students with a BSc in Computational Sciences from University of Basel are admitted to
the Master program corresponding to their Major as well as to the Master Program in
Computer Science.
Students with a BSc in Computational Sciences, Major in Computatio-
nal Biology from University of Basel are admitted to the Biozentrum's Master program in
Molecular Biology. Within this program, a special track in bioinformatics is offered
.

Computational Biology

Master of Science in Molecular Biology (MSc)

Computational Chemistry
Master of Science in Chemistry (MSc)

Computational Mathematics

The master program in mathematics offers different advanced modules where students specialize and gain a deeper understanding of a particular topic. Students interested in computational mathematics will preferably select the modules Analysis and Numerical analysis, both centered about the common theme of partial differential equations. Moreover, they may freely choose additional courses from applied mathematics, physics or computer science.

Computational Physics

The master program in physics gives to the students a lot of freedom to select various courses. Students with an inclination towards computational topics can therefore

preferentially select master courses in the field of computational condensed matter physics, computational astrophysics and high performance computing.
